I've found Steve Rogers and Tony Stark pictures all over the net and I just want to share the love.
Okay I just can’t not keep all this to myself in my head anymore. Be warned below there will be a whole hell of a lot of spoilers for Two Parts Broken and one for Possession. If you don’t want spoilers of insight into my mind do not read this post.
Okay the way all my stories start out is as an idea that builds and builds in my head. Often it is an impression or a reoccurring thought that has some sort of dark poetry to it. If they’re good they stick around. Sometimes I’ll write the concept down in the true immense file called Ideas and Parts on my computer. Some of those ideas have a good three of four pages of actual scenes of the story written before they are left alone. That’s sometimes all I need to let them go so they are no crowding up my head.
World building is something I love doing. I love thinking of concepts and then building things around them. Steven’s world for example came from my love for Werewolves and fantasy in general. I like the thought of him living in an America that spoke French because I once heard that French was almost chosen as America’s official language and it’s always been something I’d like to see as an AU.
The original concept for Two Parts Broken crashed into my head a good six to 8 months before anyone ever saw anything posted. It was inspired by Hickman, the illuminati, and what I read about what was going on in Tony’s origins all of which where things I heard about at the same time. My mind saw the pieces, put them together, and went Oh MY GOD! I saw Tony feeling helpless and crushed by a fate he couldn’t control (something I could see doing temporarily but getting over quickly because he has a fairly good support system and incredible powers of denial.) So Tony, reeling from having every part of himself engendered, doesn’t ever have time to reconcile with the incursion happening. He builds the devise that destroys another universe because he doesn’t think he has a choice. With his knowledge of the programming he falls victim to it. …. And I’m losing track of my thoughts.
Anyways I initially tried to push this whole concept out of my mind but it kept coming back. It brought friends in the form of Steve’s anger and retribution over the mind wiping and the liberties taken by the Illuminati to save the world. I thought about where would be the best place to imprison Tony? The answer is an island without technology. The location of the island is only known to Steve and Maria Hill, and possibly Namor (it is surrounded by the ocean after all.)
Because Tony can ether break out of or be broken out of any of the prisons that are available if the other inmates don’t kill him first.
Why leave him with only two crates worth of stuff?
Well at first he didn’t have anything but that didn’t feel right. Steve was and is pissed with Tony but He still loves him, more then he’s willing to admit to himself, and the UN was calling for Tony’s head. Steve, with the backing of Maria Hill, is able to get a different sentence then outright death. Of course reader won’t really find out about this until part three. The two boxes where what the UN allowed to be left.
I find dreams fascinating. I actually almost left all the dreams out of the fic but I realized that not only did they give you background for Steven but they also showed you what Tony’s brain was doing to him. It made the heart break and insanity more real. There are actually more dreams then were originally planned and I think they have made the fic stronger. I see from the comments that they have also made people really hate Steve. Believe it or not hating Steve was not the point. I want you to be angry at him yes but I have a feeling people are really just going to keep hating him for a while.
Hi hi anon c:
Yeah I kind of make it a policy to rec stuff that has less than 100 kudos and deserves more so I’ll give you my top 10 currently:
Tony invites Steve down into his lab for a black-tie, invitation only event. Steve has no idea what hits him.
After Tony stops the Incursions paying the highest price, Steve just wants to be left alone, but loneliness doesn’t heal a soul that lost its half.
In a world where the Avengers never existed, Tony Stark, the successful heir of Stark Industries, discovers Captain America’s body frozen in the ice. With the Captain reluctant on taking back his hero title and Tony’s rivals wanting to use the super soldier serum for their own plans, the billionaire tries to find a way to help Steve adjust to this new world and keep his company running. A series of unfortunate events and with Tony in grave danger, Steve chooses to take the mantle of Captain America yet again and save him, marking his return to the spotlight.
Steve’s going to ask Tony out… eventually. It’s harder when things like giant tentacled ooze monsters and Pepper Potts are in the way. (Or, Pepper gives the scariest shovel speeches and why does nothing go Steve’s way?)
Tony’s right hand left the steering wheel and he placed it over Steve’s. “We are celebrating life, Captain.”
Mobboss!Steve Rogers was waiting for his boyfriend to show up for dinner. When he didn’t the search, and later rescue, for him began.
Both Tony and Steve are forgetting something.
After Steve Rogers and the world find out what the Illuminati did they are punished. Tony is banished to live on on an island with no other people and absolutely no technology other than the R.T. node . After living there for two years, being driven crazy by guilt, bitterness, loneliness, and his unending thirst to create, Tony has the truly unexpected land on his beach. Now Tony must deal with his own problems in order to help the copy of his best friend cope with waking up in a whole new world on top of 70 years in ice. As an added problem his new companion is a werewolf. Oh the world is ending. Again.
He could have shielded his face in Tony’s shoulder, but that would mean looking away from the vista below, the sparkle of city lights and people becoming ants, dwindling to specks, and disappearing as the world slipped farther away.
Quick drabble about the Chronic Pain Tony Must feel from having a giant chunk of complex metal and shrapnel embedded in his chest.
OMG I’m on Someones Rec list!
